Anybody dismantled a Sapph 4x4 Thermostat housing???

According to the diagram in the Workshop Manual, it shows a diagram of the housing with all the components.

It shows a large Collar that goes over the top of the Thermostat.

So you have the outer casing, then the gasket, then the Collar, then the thermostat, then the main housing....

Anybody confirm this to be true, as i dont remember seeing any collar when i stripped mine down a long while ago.

If I remember correctly the drawing is for the 500 version which does have a collar.

ermmmmmmmmmm
cant quite remember .. but i know when you take the thermostat out there is a black 'o' ring that goes over the outer edge ... it is a bugger to replace the stat and get it to sit back in its recess in situ .. i know that much
