Looking at selling my Ford Focus so i can get an XR2i but its let down by its paint work. 2 Panels, one being the rear wheel arch and the other the roof need respraying or atleast a touch up.

Will a DIY paint job look worse than just leaving it do you reckon? can you do a decent touch up nowadays or is still for the skilled only?

Roof has a small chip which has started to rust and the rear wheel arch has been clipped by another car as we were parked so both need a bit of filler before they can be sprayed too.

Another thing to consider is the car is probably worth around £2k with decent paint work and ive been quoted £250 for a pro spray job, i know you cant see the car so its hard to comment but do you think ill lose £250 to these two bad panels?

£250 a good price for 2 panels then? if so ill probably do that if you think ill lose more by not doing it.

Or i could sell the car for £1750 and not have the trouble

£250 is cheap mate . id defo do it mate. just make sure the quarter is blended in properly. dont let him just paint the quarter cos i doubt it wil match . ive had a couple of motors that i got cheap cos they had block panels painted and they looked awful
