Everybody changes these badges so dont go by the rear badge before you buy.

Very good cars, good MPG and plenty of mods for them out there, 18"/19" wheels, coilovers, debadging, new grills, remaps for power increases etc.

Common faults are brake light bulbs blowing, electric window cables snapping and the window then falling into the door, and when you lower them, they eat front tyres and driveshafts knock on the anti roll bar if you go too low.

If this happens you can either buy an anti rol bar drop link kit from Gwent VW or take the anti roll bar off completely which many do.

Apart from that good cars, just check the service history before you buy and check the history on the cam belt, which needs doing every 80K.

Good luck.

I did 35k in the company one I had.

I absoloutly BATTERED the fuck out of it everywhere.

Including a trip on a private test track in the early hours for about 145 miles at about 120 constant and it didn't even break sweat.

Well built and strong as an ox.

very good cars

common faults are electric windows failing, cooling fans not working (u can check this by putting the a/c on and the cooling fan should start to work slowly, clutches, and if its a 150 bhp model they are common for knocking the lobes off the cams at around 100 thousand miles

if you need any advice when your buying one let me know or if you want any advice on modding it to as ive went through all your going to and you see how nice mine was kim

Cheers for you help guys

Dunno which model im going for depends on insurance, as i have lost all my no-claims hence why I need to get rid of the RS....

Not in a rush to buy on, so gonna be having a good look around for one, I only got about 4.5k to spend on one, but could maybe get a bit more if need be...

I have noticed hat the majority have really high milage on them, what would be a reasonable milage to go for??

mine had 99 thousand on with full history

70-80 thousand would be a really good milege to get if you can find one at that milege
