How wierd is this...
Lost my purse beginning of December, had all my cash cards, recovery cards, rsoc cards everything in there, but no money well all of £2 if that counts
Now of course i did the sensible thing and canceled my cash cards (totally forgot about recovery cards etc ) so not a clue if they used them
But anyways, on the 3rd Jan i received an envelope through the post with every single card in it, they got my address off my driving license, but they had only posted them out on the 2nd Jan (my bloody b-day)
My question is, could i find out if they had tried to use my cards, as its annoying the hell out of me that someone had my purse all that time, i think they may have kept them over xmas to use them but dunno how to find out, would the banks know? or would someone have contacted me if they had??
i dont know if there is anything they have kept as i dont actually remember what was in the purse....

I don't think they'd have sent them back if they'd tried using them. Thieves tend to bin them or put them down a drain.
The card's would have been retained if they'd been used when cancelled (I think)
I tend to find a few wallets working for the council, you don't always find them the day they're lost. Plus don't forget Xmas post will have slowed them coming back. (assuming the post mark doesn't always mean it was posted that day)
Just be thankful you got them back, not that cancelled card are much use.
I often wonder why I bother as I never get any thanks for going out of my way to return stuff. If people are thinking the worst like you seem to be, maybe noone should bother returning stuff again and therefor not be thought of as a posible thief.
(PS not having ago at you, just venting some frustration)

If you have your belongings back and havent lost any money or had any money go from your bank, I would just be thankfull of the return and not bother doing an inspector cleuso.

People are busy over christmas...might have put it in a drawer or the glovebox of their car and thought ''I'll send that back tomorrow'' and forgot to.
Is nice to think people will try to return something a stranger lost at their own expense though, you wouldn't think many people would bother anymore..especially if there was nothing really there cash wise for you to lose out on most people would just think ''ahhh they'd have all new cards by now anyway''.
