Default Sky Viewing Card question

If you had a Sky movies/Sports subscription could you take your Sky Viewing card round to a friends house and watch the premium channels on their sky box that doesn't have premium subscriptions?

personel experiance, my parents had 2 homes, one in essex one in suffolk, allways took the sky box between the 2 places for years

have you tried all the channels, the basic crappy ones will work on most, ie sky 1 , uk golds etc, but premium skymovies / sport, should not

It worked for me a long while ago but that was not long after sky digital come out. A mate gave me his card when he canceled it as i did not have the sports and movies on mine, worked for about 3 months then they got wise and switched it off.

Paul i have just started to working for sky as a software tester so mess around with alot of set top boxes and i've been told that you can ring up sky and ask for the set top boxes to be paired to the cards for security reasons so if you have not then i assume you can work the card anywhere, but i'm not sure whether if you have paired a card to a STB if you can use that same card on another STB or vice versa.

The dish doesnt have anything to do with the STB as far as i know, but best way to really find out is try it!

the first lot of panasonic digital boxes had analogue tuners and you could swap the cards
as they are all digital tuners now you can only use the card with the box that it is paired to it
