my paypal has been used overnight and done me for £500 :MAD:
woke up this morning and i had loads of emails from paypal saying 2 transactions was complete 2x $500
ive never had any spoof emails that i know of so how the fook has someone got into my account.
ive changes my password on it and reported to hotmail but they sa it takes upto 10 days
HELP what can i do?

Team HOTHOT!
Ring the paypal helpline and they will talk you through the resolution process - I was done out of around a £900 a few months ago, all got sorted out within 2 weeks

remember that paypal is an electronic money tansfer institution it is not a banking institution as such the regulation it falls under is different.
Situations like this is why I personally do not paypal, bad situation
They fail to mention their total lack of security to prevent your account from being compromised by phishing & spoof sites. That if your account is accessed by a criminal using one of these methods, PayPal will hold YOU monetarily & legally responsible! Also, no place do they openly tell potential members that their money is 100% at risk. That PayPal can, will, and has in the past, completely cleaned out customers' accounts, (including your checking or savings account) with no appeals process available.

I would certainly get the bank to cut ties from your account to the paypal account and not to honour and future payments because any money that goes into that account now can be cleaned / removed

can you not ring your bank tell them what has happened and stop the transaction as paypal normally takes 5 days for money to transfer

also in some circumstances, the bank can recall a payment, especially if you say whats happened, i recalled a payment as it had been cancelled previously yet the bank paid it
got the money back the next day

ring the bank NOW, as if you catch it in time it won't have cleared, and they can void the authorisation.

Paypal are always doing things like this they are so rubbish but it wont be taken out of your bank yet,you normally get a couple of days. when paypal realise they made a mistake they will clear your account there good like that but they just take time doing it.
