Dont even dream of buying one just because you think they are cute My mate had one, you have to feed them live bait for a start, it lived for 17 years and it only came out at night. Not forgetting they have to be kept at certain temperatures between day and night and need special lighting. Not something I'd buy into in a hurry and not something you do without PLENTY of thought and research.

We used to get them for free living in Australia.
Had about 2 or 3 leaf-tailed geckos living in the garage - always had to check the garage floor before rolling the car in so we didn't run "Buddy" over.....

i've get a bearded dragon if i wa u
easiest to look after, yep you gotta handle n feed them live food
crickets, locus etc, also feeding them bit of veg,
u need to feed them pretty much every day and also clean out there vavarium every couple of days
they live over 10 years so you gonna be going this a long time
a 3ft tank would be ok to start off with but when they get a bit bigger you would need to get a new tank
here are my bearded dragons
*how come every one all of a sudden wants lizards this week?

oh yeah forgot to say dragons are ok to be handled, they'd just sit in the room with you on a night n just climb all over stuff, dont bite or owt
and they sleep thru the night
and they sleep thru the night

I bet Popeye gets all this sort of stuff living for free in his garden in Oz!
We used to have a blue tongued lizard living in our patio wall......as well as the leaf-tailed geckos in the garage, numerous skinks......................and the odd red-bellied black snake
