BBC "The Blue Planet" series.....
I know it's not new, but saw it many years ago on BBC2, when we had analogue TV....
See some of it again the other day (UKTV History were repeating it) on Digital TV (Freeview) and holy crap, it just looks SUPERB....
UKTV showed 4 episodes, and I got right into it, that I had to go download the entire series
Watched a couple more today (day off) and I don't remember it being this good!
It's just AMAZING the stuff they capture on video, and if I didn't know better, I'd have said half of it was pure CGI. But there's absolutely no computer input in this (apart from the views of earth from space to show climate changes) and the footage of the wildlife in the ocean, and on land, is unparralleled(sp) - simply STUNNING
That is all

Rhys - Blue Planet was 2001, Planet Earth was last year (half showed in the spring, and half showed in November), both of which Attenborough narrated (tho he wasn't actually in it as such)
I grew up with Attenborough tho - all the "Wildlife on One" programmes I watched as a kid were done by him, and to be honest, unless he is presenting/narating it, I'm just not that interested in it! There's something about the calm excited urgency in his delivery that calms me - dunno why, he just does I do find a lot of TV progs are just boring, and I lose interest very quickly in them, even if I watch with the best intentions, but if he's doing it, I find myself staying glued to it
Also, if Attenborough is doing it, you know it will be quality, as he doesn't put his mark on just any old shit. He was director of programming for the Beeb for quite a few years (under his watch was when BBC2 became the first UK TV channel to broadcast in colour!) and has been working with and for them for 50-odd years!
I just think the man is a legend, and someone I would LOVE to meet and just sit and listen to for, well, forever
Big up rispec for Attenborough
