Default Pin stripe problem

Hi

I have 2 3mm (I think) pin stripes on my sapphire but some clever arse decided to lacquer over them on the front wings The previous owner of the car started removing them because they looked pretty nasty on the rear quarters because they had COSWORTH written in big letters at the end of the stripes.

Until I can afford to get the front wings resprayed I need these stripes matched and replaced (without the writing )

The problem is that the only guy that I know that can do this has been messing me around for over a month now and although he arranged to come to my house last week he never turned up

Does anyone know anyone in the South Bucks/Berks are that can do this or does anyone have any good ideas of how to remove the old ones without screwing the paint up? I've been wondering whether I could rub the lacquer down, remove the stripes and then polish it back in? Does that sound like it'd work?

You can just about make out the stripes in this photo from before the previous owner removed them

Thanks

i think any place that sells car stickers could make some up. just buy enuff to cover both sides from the font to the back, they dont have to be 3mm then as the new ones would cover the old ones on the wings.
