Default Opinions on this manifold

I need a manifold for my golf, a bloke sid he can get these for $500 but tbh i dont mind spending a bit of money on a decent manifold, but i'm struggling to find somewhere that does a t3 flange manifold with external gate to suit my gt30

Looks perfectly acceptable to me in principle, as with all things gasflow though, the devil is in the details and its hard to tell from pictures.

Fundemantally though, the shape looks ok, it looks to be equal length which is useful at high rpm and the collector looks fine.

What about the wastgate port it looks to me like its only using 1 or 2 pipes, i read somewhere that it should use all 4 and the positining is really important.

I aint doubting this manifold but i know nothing about the company that makes it and not many people on the forums have decent hp 20vt's so they cant really help either

You cant really see from that picture whats going on with the external gate, but yes its not ideal if its only on two cylinders.

Get some pics from more angles?

It looks like the collector goes 4-2-1 and the external gate is taken from both of the 2 branches at the 2 section of that, but its REALLY hard to tell from that angle.

Thats what i thought it looks like the 2 inner pipes join the 2 outers then the 2 outers go to the flange and the watgate is taken from the part where the 4 become 2.

I'll ask th question, but is there anywhere that can make me 1 that you know of but not for 10 grand???????

Simpsons would charge you about 500 quid each but would want to make half a dozen I expect.

PeterG may do them?

PM him and find out?

I bought one from the states that was very well made, but it wasnt equal length.

It was a cast item very similar to the original one.

What for ?????????

I dont mind a cast 1 as they seem to be more compact, i have issues with space as i'm trying to put a 20vt with gt30 in a mk1 golf. The turbos at the rear of the engine and there aing much space from bulkhead to engine

It was for a 20vt lump with a GT28RS

Not sure I would want to trust a non equal length one on a GT30 though.

But anyway what im getting at is there are LOADS available in the states.

Pretty easy to just change the flange and leave the rest of the collector the same though to be honest mate unless you are chasing down every single horsepower.

Its a cast manifold so dont think it can be modded ie cut up and welded.

I want a decent equal lenght 1 anyway

You can soon bolt on an adaptor, its only a hole at the end of the day, so you get a 15mm bit of plate port one side of it to match that flange and one side for the T3, but as you say, not ideal for what you are after.
