rite i have been told that if your car has airbags you cannot get insurance or pass an mot if you put a for example momo steering wheel on without air bags

is this true?

also will a mk3 mondeo ST220 steering wheel fit a mk1 mondeo steering colomn

any helpon both of these would be appreciated

 

the mot is fine as long as the air bag light comes on then goes off when the ignition is turned on , to get this to work you need a resistor to confuse the check that the airbag is still there

insurance should be fine

not sure about the mk3 / mk1 bit

ok cool so will deffo be okay aslong as the light works as normal

 

unless the law has changed in the last year yes , i had a removable wheel on my escort cos and that went through its mot a year ago with it , most auto electricians can solder the resistor in for you and all should work
