speedo stopped working this morning

so imm guessing its the cable ...hopefully

are they the same as a standard sapphire

carnt see there being any difference to be honest...

how much are they new ?????

oh AND ARE THEY FUN TO FIT

pretty damn sure it's 4x4 specific.

i find smacking the top of the dash works.

what has happened to me a few times is it comes out the back of the clocks and just needs to be clipped in.

Common problem is the speedo worm drive seizes up as they are made of plastic

Need to remove the nearside front drive shaft to change it although its only held on by a couple of circlips so its not difficult

didnt realise the shaft had to come out

got two diffs to put on the car anyway ..

so will fix all in one go CHEERS

is there anyway to know it is the worm drive and not the cable

saves stripping the speedo pod out

Undo the cable where it screws into the sump/driveshaft and connect a battery drill to the cable and see if the speedo moves
