Default best way to clean surface rust from an exhaust.

getting a geuine ford fiesta rs turbo exhaust through soon, it has some surface rust on it, whats the best matierial to use to get most of the rust off?

Just polish it with some autosol if the rust is just surface rust.

sorry mate, i was on the computer that day, see your pm and was off out, TBH it looks great, only thing that puts me off is the cut in the pipe. thats an original syatem you have there and they have to be cut off.

the system i was looking for is a 2 part system, where you clamp the backbox onto the center pipe.

Rob, it is a genuine replacement two part system where the backbox clamps to the centre section. Trouble was the joint had 'sweated together and I didnt want to mangle the back box.

Going to get my timed served pro welder friend to sort it soon.

The decals any good to you?

oh bollocks, just looked and i didnt notice that! i thought it was 1 piece!

ill see how this exhaust is and will let you know

No worries mate.

BTW autosol and fine wet and dry paper will bring them up a treat. Thats what I did with my tailpipe anyway.

ok mate thats great, yours does look a good exhaust but id be put off paying £90 for it when its been cut as i would have to pay a charge for the welder to fix this.

would you be interested in selling the center section?
