ok i transplanted a 2.0DOHC into a 1.8CVH sierra.. along with that came the MT75 gearbox. I had a look at the gearbox to connect the speedo cable but it looks like there's a blanking plate been put in where it should go. I had a look on my old gearbox and there's a little shaft that comes out that the cable goes into but i don't have that at all on the MT75!
Am i looking on the wrong place or is the speedo cable different or am i just completey stupid! lol

not too sure what you mean.. it's RWD don't have front drive shafts. The MT75 came out of a Granada 2.0Ghia and i was just thinking that it may be an electrical speedo?

Ok i'm pretty sure i have one of those Vehicle Speed Sensors on the bearbox instead as the gearbox was off a granada with cruise control.
Are there any sierra's with cruise control that i can take the cluster out of? or should i just buy an Apexi Rev Speed meter thingy and use that instead. Obviously at MOT time i'd need to manually adjust the mileage though lol
I'd rather get the proper cluster but i'm not sure if any sierra's have the "electrical" versions, or if i could somehow adapt a granada cluster to fit! arghh nightmares lol

On the 4x4 boxes it was on the N/S/F driveshaft. I didn't realise you had a rear wheel drive one.
The speedo output should be at the back of the box around the output flange to the propshaft. If it's not there then it must be driven off a wheel.....
I know Transits used a cable off the back of the box up until 98 then they used a speed sensor in the same position.

i can see the circular hole where the speedo cable is meant to go but it's blanked off and on the other side of the gearbox there's what i believe to be the speed sensor.
