THINK YOU MIGHT NEED MORE THAN A GRAND TO DO THAT LITTLE LOT

Best thing to do would be to sell you RST, add in the grand that you already have & buy a Subaru wrx, 260 - 280 bhp out the box!!

Quicker than an RST, better looking than an S2 RST, better handling than an RST, more reliable than an RST.......... i could go on all day

buy a few books on how to rebuild engines properly, not just take them appart,, bang new bearing in, and bolt them back together

Std pistons are fine for 250-260+ bhp if tuned well.

But if your going for 210+bhp i think going low comp is best, which a stg 3 head with std pistons will be about 7.9:1 which is perfect.

So if your block is good, and not worn, and pistons are good, then a hone and rings, if not rebore, and new pistons/rings,
shells, gaskets,
ford rst h/g, non strench bolts,
new oil pump and high pressure spring, £70 from burton power
new water pump?
new cam belt,
newmans cam kit, and vernier
flywheel skim, and new clutch

If you use a stg 3 head, it will be 7.9 :1 c/r on std pistons and headgasket.

if not, buy new RST pistons, and skim them down, amount needing skimming depends on the c/r you want, and head being fitted.
then get them pressed onto your rods.

if you look hard enough you can get bargains...
oh and dont forget to fit arp big end bolts ...

was just pointing out some of the things that can be done ... all depends on the condition of the original engine tho..
