Your standing mile time must also be wrong ???? (or the terminal speed is)

The profile is a percentage of the width,

say 205/45 16 =

width = 205mm
hieght = 205 x 0.45 = 92.25mm x2 = 184.5mm, + (16 x 25.4mm = 406.4 mm) = 590.9mm Hieght

now say, 195/45 16

width = 195mm
hieght = (195 x 0.45) x2 = 175.5mm, + 406.4mm = 581.9mm hieght

Rod...

My standing mile terminal was actually as i was slowing down... i hit the 173.2 top speed (rev limiter due to 3.9 ratio diff ) in 0.7 miles so i'm quite sure with a 3.64 diff i'd of been going faster than 175 by the mile

Not really... got a maram shafted T4 now which just seems to be better than the last... got rid of a slight nos leak... apart from that its still approx 7.3/1 comp, long studded, slightly ported head. BD14 inlet and std ex cams,

Lee.... Andy was using a 3.6 diff and on standard road tyres as well, his car was still pulling strong when he hit the 182.9mph, maybe with shorter gearing like mentioned by someone earlier, plus with different wheels on the rear as well, his car would have gone faster too.

There's so many options for those who are into top speed runs to improve their cars solely for this, but those, like Andy who are only interested in having an ideal car for track, there's no point.

The 40 in 205/40/17 is whats called the aspect ratio. This is the percentage of the tyre width. So the side wall of the tyre on a 205/40/17 is 40% of the width of the tyre, hence the higher aspect ratio you run, the higher final drive you have.

surley for a track car you would want shorter gearing?

Awesome terminal speeds.

What boost and nitrous were you running by the way.

Fookin pulls like an animal.

Cant wait for ya to take me for a ride in it.

1/4 mile times could be better and the 0-100 its so hard launching a real lack of grip...i was running 26psi plus 50shot but next time i'll run less boost and alot more nitrous, when i sort out my boost control and get to grips with my launching the car is capable of doing high 11s / low 12 quaters. once the car grips the acceleration is unbelieveable.. Peak power is at 6000rpm so to gain my top speed i had to over rev it they were climbing so slow , i need to drop the final drive to either a 3:58 or 3:33could quite possibly make the car slower but there is plenty of runway at raf woodbridge i think it would do 170 with ease i'll just hold on for dear life.
i'll take you for a spin when we meet in the future

thanks

The most impressive cars where the tib's sierra and the ford rs 200 and ava sierra.
Why dont you all run on drag radial tires??
Like this one and you would have much faster acceleration times.
