Default swirl pots

just been reading a thread about foam filled tanks and swirl pots were mentioned.
i don`t know bugger all about them

are they needed?
how many inlets/outlets?

i will be running 2 small alloy tanks on the rs200 (no room for a large 1).
i understand that i will need a feed to the pump, filter, regulator then fuel rail.
then i will need a return to the tank
cheers

A swirl pot (surge tank) will depend on how much fuel you're planing to use.

On a low powered car you won't need one, but as you're talking foam filled tanks then I take it your power isn't going to be so low? I think one correctly size swirl pot should do. but I'm sure someone could be more specfic.

You will need a swirl pot whether its in the tank or external. It prevents the fuel system from running dry under extreme cornering or/and low fuel levels.

see my reply on the other thread Dave

inlets / outlets depend on how and where it is placed or how many pipes you plan to run

i have had a change of tack on this,i had made 2 dummy tanks out of thin steel (so they could be copied)

but i noticed something on ebay the other day, that might be better and with a bit of history.
it was a group A genuine ex works rally car safari spec premier bag tank with alloy cover.just what the rs200 needs, proper motorsport parts

you never guess what, i won it

has fitment in the middle for 2 primary pumps.

luckly i bought these the other day.

so hopefully it should just be a case of mounting this as low as possible in the chassis.
running 2 low pressure fed lines into the swirl pot and a high pressure pump feeding the outlet to the engine.
think i have it covered now,bar the swirl pot.
