Default External Wastegate sizes...

What does it mean? for example... 38mm or 40mm or 60mm etc..

Whats the difference in size?

ok. So on an rs turbo wot size would be best? 38mm?

38mm will be more than big enough in most cases

im sure it would be fine,, but without knowing a FULL spec its impossible to tell and workout

Lift is as important as diameter, people seem to forget that.

And depends how low a boost you want to run on what engine/turbo.

Theres no real harm in getting one too big anyhow.

what about if turbo is small then opening a big wastegate will slow turbo to much

You ever seen that happen Gary?

Its not as if wastegates are fully open or shut is it.

Ive heard of that before, but never seen/heard it ever actually happening.

While on the subject, opinions on best suited size wastegate for mine.

GT30 - go with a 38mm or larger.

does wastegate size affect power/torque figures, responsiveness, or generally how the car drives?

Its a a T304, just wondering what i'd need, where to get it from and all the info you lot can give me

Any tuners recomendations?

no mate normally the other way to small and bad creep,ive even seen creep so bad that removing the wastegate from car and still it makes 1.6bar!!

that aside i got a gt35 on my evo with a 38mm tial gate and with spring removed it only runs 0.2 bar

you will just get overshoot until the controller settles! you really wanna give the controller as easy life as possible!
