For WWII weaponry fans: the other kind of T34
Russian T34 tank captured by the Germans in 1944 then dumped. Found 60 years later, 12 metres at the bottom of a lake in a peat bog:

They got it running as well:

Incredible.
There's potentially so much out there unfound from WWII. The Nazi's were desperately trying to get underground and managed to get some huge production factories up and running before the war ended. Some of these were caved in to hide what was inside.
The Wenceslas mine for example or anything to do with the Kammlerstab.

Then on the same site I found some stuff on real life MIBs. Men In Black who come round to your house and convince you never to mention the UFO you saw.
Its bloody mental some of the stuff you can read on the net. i'll try and find the link, just so you all can read it for the crack.
EDIT to inc links:

the most crasy thing about that tank is they got it started

............
My dads mate dennis has a sherman ( sp? ) tank.....he was walking on the beach in spain about 25 years ago and stubbed his toe on some metal, he said to his wife, thats the barrel off a sherman tank, his wife told him not to be so stupid so he dug a bit out and proved it.....he covered it back up and then applied to the spanish and british government to have permision to dig it up and bring it home, this was given about 12 months later whereupon he drove his ( newly purchased )tank transporter to spain, paid some locals to help him dig it up and bought it home
I often watch him drive it round his farm now! He takes it to all kinds of shows too.......its cool as fuck having your own tank

MattRS1600i, thats crazy, cool story tho
I was actually gonna say earlier about the markings being german and it being a russian tank.
During battles in the summer of 1944, the tank was captured from the Soviet army and used by the German army. (This is the reason that there are German markings painted on the tanks exterior.)

Remarkably, the tank was in good condition, with no rust, and all systems (except the engine) in working condition.
Whats even more amazing than the tank being in good condition after all that time, is something made by Komatsu that works and isnt shit at its job

excellent stuff,
i live right by (the old) RAF hornchurch. the estate i live on was built on part of the old base. my road amd various alley ways that link onto it is pretty much a straight line. overlaying the maps of the old base and the new estate (1970's) shows that i live on the site of the old runway!
always some funky stuff showing up over the fields and the car park is one of the the 'E pens' that the spitfires were housed in
