Will a Rouse Cosworth hold its value ?
I'm looking to buy a Rouse. The price I'll be paying is top money for a 304 R. Do people think the values of these cars will remain high ? I'm not looking to make any cahs, when / if I do sell it, i just don't want to be £1000's out of pocket.

I personally dont think there worth considerably more than a normal saph...
Yes there rare, and they were the most expensive cos when new,, but for the prices some people state there worth,,, a nice low mileage 3dr could be owned.. which to me is much more desireable than a saph
IMO

Rouse
hi we had ours for 4 years and sold it for £500 less than we bought it for. However 3 months later the car was sold for 3k more to Ireland as the insurance in southern Ireland has totally changed. My advice is if its a totally genuine car with below average mileage and documentation, it will appreciate, we would buy another rouse if the cash allowed.

They will hold there value no problem if they are genuine examples as they will always have that special following.
My mate has a really nice black 304R which he will be selling soon and i expect that to fetch top money.
For any info on them im sure DOO will keep you well informed

IMO they can only go up in value and are underpriced as only 67 built in the 1st place prob only half of them left on the road today if that.
When new..
Rarest cosworth
most expensive when new 30k+
Quickest cosworth out of the dealership.
What i don`t understand People always say you can get a Escort cos/mint 3 door for Rouse money. If i wanted an escort or 3 door i would of bought one ???
Stands out from the crowd much more than most escorts / 3 door`s as every tom ,dick, harry has got one.
Goodluck Steve hope you find a nice one you won`t regret it

Love or hate them a bit like marmite
RS500 was a normal sierra cosworth with ford motorsport bits on and yep your right was for homolagation.
The rouse was perfected as the perfect road going cosworth driveabilty the main thing.
Project was back by ford.
Had everything to do with ford you could only buy one from a selected 25 RS dealerships across the UK.
came with full ford warranty you used to be able to buy all the rouse parts aswell from ford.

So ford actually clame to have produced this car as there own??????????
I know they were sold by ford dealers, but were they actually classed as a model that ford produced like the rs500 was???????
Back in the day could you walk nto any dealer and buy a rear spoiler for your car with a ford part number like you could for a normal sierra cosworh.
Not trying to be a cock but i cant see how it is a ford produced car if an outside company did all the work on it

I sold mine for 10.5k which was what it was worth considering the milage (52,000) and condition & being totally genuine and the guy is happy as can be with it & tells me he gets every1 who sees it asking about it
Rouse Sports are worth alot more than most peeps think after seeing 2 other examples while owning mine and knowing what they wanted for theirs i should've had mine for sale for 15k (there weren't good examples at all)
If you want to know any info give me a PM i'd be happy to help

Alps Pacino as xr4x4rs the RS500 was built from an outside CO.
you could walk into any dealership and buy a normal sierra cosworth spolier.
But you could not buy a RS500 rear spolier you would have had to go to a RS dealership.
Yes you could buy a Rouse rear spolier from a Rousesport dealer there where 25 of them across the UK.

these rouse sports are rare and will be worth a few quid for years to come, but they look horrid,i think the seats were good, but the styling is naff, and realistically i wouldnt want to drive a car that looked like a cossie,(driven through halfords),but im not slaging anyones car, everyone to their own,but i know what id rather own....................and ive got it

the kit was made so it was more aerodynamic mate
just like ford stuck a spoiler on the back of the 3dr and escort to keep the back end down i think
im sure the rouse kit was desgined in a wind tunnel aswell to get the most f it aswell
but there like marmite u either love it or hate it
id rather have a rouse than a 3dr but thats just me

well if we're being picky the 304R wasnt the most powerful car available form a ford dealer. it was the turbotechnics minker XR4s.
they were linked to ford in the same way the rouse ones were, ie available from dealers etc.

Brooklyn are/were the countries Main RS Dealer, in fact Roger Pitts, the National Ford RS parts specialist still works there ( helped me locate rs1600i ARB bushes a year or two back ), the 2.3 strokers came direct from them with a Ford warranty and could be supplied through the other dealers from new. How is that less of a Ford than a 500 or a rouse, just because it's less well known?

Matt the dealership where i work used to do the a 2.4 stroker passey & porter in WSM.
was not a limted edtion model just an engine coversion avab on any cosworth.
That also came with a in house warranty not covered by ford direct.
Also know of roger pitts top bloke spoke to him many of times sorting out RS bits.
Jim heres some info on the Minker i sure it was only avab from turbotechnics . ??
http://www.area51.org.uk/projectcar/minkerk1.htm
PS...never said the rouse was the fastest ford ever

They have to be seen in the flesh to really appricate them cause i must admit in photo's they don't look that good.
I remember going to the cumbrian classic car show day this yr and been surrounded by proper old classic car and this old women walked by and says
"ain't seen 1 of those in some years is a 304-R or 302-R"
I was shocked to say the least
We went on and spoke for sometime and she told me her late husband had some input into the Rouse Bodykit Design small world ain't it
