GREAT car!
Tidy looking, great spec, comfy, cheap to run, nice effortless grunt, good handling and brakes!
Cant fault them, i promised myself a diesel when prices drop
buy one and stick a Bluefin on

Wahay!! I've lost my Virginity!!
The Titanium X as mentioned before are just as good. Same engine, performance and looks for a couple of grand less. Couple of less gadgets inside tho. I had one and it went like stink for a diesel, about 40mpg around the doors aswell

SUPERB cars
I had one for just under a year until it was wrote off for me by some muppet in a 206
I had it as a family car with sportyness when i wanted it
The Missus drove it most of the time with my 3 kids in it, and it was superb. Averaged about 46mpg and went VERY well as standard.
I then had the Bluefin put on it and it took it to just under 200bhp and WHAT A CAR it was then. Sat at 150 no problem and felt very stable
All in all a superb car with all the toys you will ever need The engine was superb and drove really well. Ride was awesome and it handled very well.....as it shares the same suspention as the ST220
When i got the pay out for mine i hunted high and low for another one but i couldnt find one anywhere for sensible money.....They were fetching MORE than i paid from a Ford dealer
If i could of found another i would 100% bought it.............Instead i went for the BMW 330d....But thats another Story

The BMW is in a totally different class to the Mondeo...... Just because of what it is. The BMW oozes class, refinment and build quality as it should.
BUT
The Mondeo was ....In its Class..... A fucking top car and tbh apart from it being fwd i think it drives just aswell as the BMW. And handles nearly aswell. As for spec, i had more in the Mondeo...In the way of heated front screen, Heated seats and a bit more room in the back and boot.
As for what drives better............. It is the BMW. But it should be anyway.
I would buy either car again in a flash.....

Tiff, didn't know yours was no more , I wanted to know how much faster it was than mine
My first choice was and still is an ST155 Estate. Didn't quite have the budget so chose between a 130TDCi, ST220 & a white van!
Try using 6th, mine did 147
Had a Hertz 130TDi Estate last year, cruising at 120, the family thought I was doing 90, very stable and comfortable.
Hired for 1 day and 500mile round trip from Karlsruhe to the 'ring. Did 5 laps in it with a dry 10:05, 4up (took it easy with son in car).
In the wet it was lethal, clenched buttocks almost broke the seat
It averaged 28mpg which I thought was very poor at the time as my cousins 130 does 52mpg everyday but it was driven flat out for most of the journey including 147mph when the autobahn was empty (and the help of a tail wind).
I nearly bought a 130TDCi estate for Ł6K but couldn't resist an ST220 for only Ł2,800 more with much more toys, 1yr newer and 2/3rds the mileage.
Only downside, 21.8mpg normal driving
Managed 30.4mpg economy drive upto Suffolk last weekend, wife was happy but I now need therapy
The Bus............

We bought one this time last year and it has ran faultless.
1st thing was to fit a tow bar and it has pulled the car trailer all over the country this year with ease and still returned 39MPG
Go drive one, i did and traded in my ST170 on the spot for it.

ran a 130 for a few weeks as compnay transport
other than the reluctance to pll away in second without stalling it was a top motor
bearing in mind it was only the LX spec it still came with air and all electric windows and was nice and comfortable at 110 but cruised best at about 90

Go for it, your old man won't regret it. Having a TDCi 115 as my daily driver I love it, plenty of torque from that, 70-90 in 5th is about 5 seconds
Tiff, sorry to hear about your crash. Those pictures are really disturbing, if you don't mind me asking; how did it happen?

I've got a Focus Zetec Climate 2.0TDCi (138PS) and those engines are incredible. Absolute bags of torque, and 45 mpg
If you are in the market for an ST Mondeo, my mate bought a 3.0V6 ST220 from www.archersofashby.co.uk - They're all ford direct cars.
He's got a few ST TDCi's on there
