How does this work?

I am looking at buying a car which is off the road for winter, so its not taxed or motd, I dont have a trailer. Whats the best way to do it if I buy it.

Assuming you don't have a tow car legally capable of towing a car on a trailer
and / or a driving licence allowing you to tow,,, you'll have to pay someone to do it for you.
There are people on here in the car transport business.
