it goes 1-3-4-2 anti clockwise

1 at the top towards the back of the engine
3 at the top towards the front

like in the pic.

1 at the cam pulley end 4 at the distributor end

It will be the same for a 1.4cvh, why would it be different?

Did you try it with them swapped back just to see?

Im 99% sure thats correct tho the other 1% now because you say it runs like a tractor

Why were they off? have you done anything else on the car.. recent work?

Wtf, mine are in that order but all one hole anti clockwise, so #1 is where #3 is in that pic and it runs perfectly

jus found:

http://www.fordfans.cz/download/manual/0686-05b.pdf
&
http://www.fordfans.cz/download/manual/0686-05b.pdf

which confirms what I said, anticlockwise if your looking onto the dizzy/rotor arm, and 1-3-4-2

put the engine to TDC and note what way the rotor arm points and that is #1

jus went an checked mine, its the same as the pic in the first post and runs as normal.
