It did not work well with just the one laptop

Few too many arguments

With all due respect Phil, Martin quoteed 210lt/hr at 6bar and mark finds it does 270, so they obviously agrees with you "sort of" on flow but not on horsepower potential. Not a dig, just a fact worthy of mention.

At 200mph I reckon 5mpg would be the most you would get but I reckon closer to 3mpg would be more like it...

based on 5mpg at 200mph you would need 181 litres per hour BUT if its 3mpg then 302 litres would be needed!! So one 044 pump may not be such a good idea!!

...at 4 mpg youd still be ok so for 200mph lets say that...and we know to do 200mph you are looking at 680-700bhp

BUT you are sailing close to the wind and i would only recommend 600bhp max...so ideal for my max on a 2wd manifold of 550bhp

I really don't think you should be making recommendations to anyone, given that you change figures to suit yourself.

an example...

first the pump's good for 700hp then when doubt is cast you then suggest 600hp to be safe!

I could go on...BUT I'm not interested in replying to any more of your rubbish,

Yes it is good for 700bhp from your own admission of 4mpg and 200mph ....But youd have to be an idiot to run it flat out on a very expensive engine..so TBH i dont get your point except trying to dig...next your be bringing up the 30 quid again

Oh well, the plus side is with the tubular manifold and external waste gate we could possibly see another 20 - 30 brake Should be getting on for 670 bhp on race fuel, getting close to the magic 200MPH!!!!!

As far as i can see it's only yourself and Ade that have suffered this kind of failure ... other than the exhaust manifold do your engine share any new (not tried and previously tested) components?

Oh, we can all have 3 grand inlet manifolds etc., so the car looks like it could go out and win Pikes Peak, but it's having the balls to have a go at proving and not being affraid to fail, unlike some.
Who is that aimed at??
Not you Martin, a certain gobshite down this neck of the woods.
By the powers of deduction I assume you are referring to me as I am the only person in "your neck of the woods" with a "3 grand inlet manifold". However, I certainly hope you arent referring to me or we'll be having words at the next meeting Nobody calls me a gobshite and gets away it without retaliation

Anything I said earlier on this post was purely offering contructive criticism as part of a collective opinion from this board and no offence intended. If you can't take that, you shouldn't be in this game.

PS If I want to spend Ł3248.18p on an inlet manifold then fit it to my car and go shopping with it then I fucking will.

Didn't have you down as the touchy type Ade. I very rarely come on this forum. This shows why.

Was only merely offering my thoughts and advice. I will keep it to myself in future. Good luck with the diagnosis!

merry xmas Ian, see you for a coffee sometime

Is a shame this thread has disentigrated into argument, it's a very very interesting read and has helped me re-think some of my future plans

There are a lot of very knowlegeable people here, shame they can't work together........

and it seems phil was right about the manifold all along (dives for cover) ... but in all seriousness, from what I can see people have been jumped on for offering genuinely honest advice

A point to note about the fuel pump flow figures, even aircraft fuel pumps have huge tolerences, ( I do a lot of work on aircraft fuel systems ) combine that with tolerences in fuel filters, joints in pipes, voltage reaching the pump, age of the pump etc, the difference can be HUGE in the pumps output.
Just imagine if you have a very well built pump that flows at the top of its build tolerence with a wide tolerence fuel filter thats getting optimum voltage off a new loom on new pipes, compared to a poorly built in the first place at the bottom end of tolerence for quality control, thats seen a bit of use to boot, on an old loom, not getting quite the voltage it normally does through a slightly tight fuel filter, the differences will be huge- could be a major factor in some cases

Ian, I'm sorry about the comment. I have had a lot of shit over the last year or so with the failures. I welcome all advice and take it on board.

A lot of people have shown genuine interest in our efforts, but it has built up recently to the point where I have had enough.

We are going to make one last effort to get it right, and this time it will be right.

Apologies.
