BTCC has been shit since, some of the drivers were mint; Menu, Rydell, Burt, Tarquini, Neal, Clealand, Thompson, they were all mint drivers and the cars were quite closely matched, now its just the vauxhall BTTC
Its just watered down road car racing now.

Proper close racing. Me and me dad used to go all over the country to watch these. Volvo estates were awesome to watch and the Alfa's were very competitive. Fords sounded great

I know someone who I think owns that car, it could well be another drivers old car though.
Awesome bit of kit, engines don't weigh fook all
Tony will probably know if this was true or not but didn't they actually drop the shell over the chassis on those ?
Some amazing little tricks they put into those cars.... and loads of others I would assume.

All the mondeos used the Mazda V6 ( the KL block ) the early ones were coded FCA up to FCD , then cosworth took over the project , they cut the block into 26 sections and re-welded them to lower the crank postion , the heads wer also cut to buggery ,infact the engines looked like they had slug welds all over them - still cost Ł50 k each tho . The 97 -2000 motors had the cross shaft going through the V of the block to lower the centre of gravity !

The Radisich mk 1 which won the world championship is owned by a real nice guy who lives by me, keeps it in his workshop. he also has in there the Anthony Reid 2000 model year Rapid fit mondeo super tourer and en ex le-mans tiga. all of which he uses in anger

Brings back the memories! Used to LOVE touring cars although i was too young for the RS500s
Tarquni in the Alfa won EVERYTHING for a little while, i remember those sun strips that covered half the screen as well.
Joe Winklehock was class in the E36 BMW too.
Nest looking were the early blue/white mondeos and the older GSi cavalier with the gold wheels cleland used to drive
