Does anyone know why some Cosworth's have a second fuel pump relay wired in, usually in the boot? I am having some trouble with my fuel system, and I cannot figure out why an additional one is needed?

because someone has run additional (thicker or just newer) wiring to the pump to keep the voltage up

OK. That's why there seems to be a seperate 12v running from the battery to the second raly in the boot...

exactly. that 2nd relay is probably (hopefully) switched by the original relay/wiring via the inertia switch
