Porkie and Martin Hadland have done one.
Prices on the last Gumball were £30,000 for a entrant and 1 car and a additional £10,000 per passenger. Plus the fuel, fines, bribes or whetever you will need to survive.
Cheers, Mike

may be a lot of money but you'll never forget it.
i hope to do it one day. its one of them things that i would be willing to go with out other stuff for, if u know what i mean.
i dont think you'd regret spending the money once you've done it tbh

I would never forget doing an event like that, because I would always be thinking of what I could have bought instead, like paying the gaff in Spain off, or banking the money.. but I know what you guys mean, would be quite a thing to do. But being a tight Yorkshire man, I doubt I'd stump up that much dollar!!

Oh and in 07
The route will be London, Venice, Dubrovnik, Thessaloniki, Istanbul, TBC, Beirut. The cost for previous Gumballers like your self is £24k (£28k for new Gumballers). A deposit of £12k will secure your space and the rest is payable in full by November"
And somewhat controversially. Previous entrant said
Now lets have a look at the possible prices that G3K HQ would have to pay:
Hotels for 7 nights (max) = 200 Euros per room per night average.
Tunnel = 150 euros (max) per car.
Food = Free (Julie's Mum cooks all the buffets a week before the rally at her home).
Ferry (if used) = 1,000 euros per car (so far above the real price as to be unbelievable, but giving scope for G3K to get a decent boat for the night).
Total per car = 2,550 Euros.
OK, so Max and Julie still have to do several recce trips to organise things, pay their staff and office costs etc. 10,000 GBP per car would be acceptable, giving Max a huge profit margin per car (not even counting advertising revenue). 24,000 GBP per car? Fcuking insane! A classic case of someone over-valuing their brand and underestimating the intelligence of the market.
How many repeat Gumballers were there in 2006? A lot less than when I did my first in 2005. At this rate Max will run out of people silly enough to pay stupid prices within a few years. Max: if you are reading this, get real with the prices: there are more and better competitions every year and you are cutting your own throat!

Gumball pricing is a bit steep don't you think
We done the Cannonball8000 this year which was excellent.
Sadly the Tv program doesn't even show 10% of what really goes on but I suppose that is understandable

For those slagging off Gumball for being tooo expensive..... YOU ARE MISSING THE POINT!!!!
In my opinion anyway...
Gumball is a Global brand and an aspirational celebrity mega event! when it was £15k or whatever then it attracted people like me a Martooon... They don't want that anymore!!
They want the Super rich, the people who spend £50k for 5 days adventure and don't even blink
For example on the first night I had a 3 hour bar tab of €2000 and I bet that was the smallest out there!!! Gumball is for the proper rich now and I LOVE that!!!
There are LOADS of other events like Cannonball and Eurowhatever to fill the gap! But let Gumball be UBERBLING!
As an example of why its mega cool, I had an accident as you know and was unable to walk for a 'while' so a guy I had only met the day before strolled up and offered me his private jet to fly me home... Now THATS what the Gumball should be about!
People Slag Maxallion off.... thats just jealousy if you ask me. The Guy has created an amazing event and now a BRAND and I wish him every luck with it and hope he absolutely has it off!
Its still a great laugh... BUT its still MEGA hard work and a real driving adventure! I would not rush back... its HARD graft!!!
Also to give Max his due, he was still down to earth enough to ring me up personally 2 weeks and ask how I was and invite me to the this years Premiere and Party!!! and I am a nobody when you look at the other Gumball Veterans!!!
He is a TOP bloke and a TOP event and organisation... if you can't afford it then work harder or buy more lottery tickets if you ask me!!! Gumball SHOULD be exclusive and aspirational!!! all these start ups copycats are riding on its success and Max's idea and vision and hardwork. BUT they are making sure thousands of petrolheads have amazing driving holidays!!! because there are now Gumball type events for EVERY budget. There is one where you can't spend more than £100 on a car!!! so thats all goood isn't it???
Good luck to Max and Julie... they have given alot of people amazing memories and experiences and created a new type of holiday for petrolheads like us!!!
Sorry for the rant!!! had a few bottles of Poo

But come on. Its an idea "borrowed" from a film. Which in turn is based on the infamous US Expressway races of the late 70s early 80s. Cooper brought it back and gave it a reinvigoration. For which you have to admire his determination.
Though his attitude towards some of the other (Carbon Black particularly) events seems a bit odd.

I will openly admit I don't know anything about Carbon black or Max's attitude towards it
Sorry Rich
Can only go on what I have experienced.
I know Max can be a hothead and have heard that you has said and done some weird things....
but in my own experience the guy has been great and when you see him he always has time for everyone and I really like that
I am not stoopid though and don't think he is the Messiah and am willing to be proved totally wrong and deceived...

In a nutshell Nods (Paul Naden HFS Loans or something? ) who set up Carbon Black used to be Coopers mate (Lent him the 612 this year)
Just seems that he (Cooper) forgets about the past and seeks to crush any competition to GB3K by any means he can. All it serves to do is make the GB team look silly. Especially as virtually nothing will topple them as the current market leader.

Ok will have to trust you on that... sounds like a megalomaniac in the making
But I will add my own personal experience of the man has been amazing
Maybe YOU would get upset when you had done sooo much hard work and yet you hear alot of people say oh yes my friend did the Gumball or my company are doing the Gumball... and all you hear is Gumball Gumball Gumball when 90% of it is Cannonball, Eurowhatever or your competitors??
Maybe I am trying to excuse him... but to me and from what I have personally seen and experienced Maxillion Cooper is a Petrolhead HERO and has done nothing bit good the car obsessed and addicted world that people like us on these forums inhibit
