It does make you wonder what is next though A couple of years ago that didn't seem possible and I remember thinking 0-100 in under 7 seconds was god damn amazing

That car is an amazing feat in engineering

Simon said he would do 0-100mph with a 4 at the front.... I didn't think he would but he is clearly going to do it easily as soon as he gets a proper launch and the clutch bites!!!

surely if martin can make the most of swapping from 2wd to 4wd he can be on for some awesome times

The thing i like about the Norris evo is its a very allround fast car track, 1/4, top speed etc

There are a few clutch based comments on the thread I started on Piston Heads. One guy thought an Enzo clutch is good for about 3 full-on launches.

I know the engineering of a Veyron is from a different planet, but I still suspect the clutch wouldn't cope with too many more.

As a side note, I was talking to Simon about the clutch yesterday and he said they usually last a full season... When he was putting his engine in on Friday he went to fit a new clutch and realised he didn't have one... so the used one went in. I expect the new one will be delivered and fitted by the end of the week.

0-30mph 1.515sec

4 * 1.515 = 6.06

0-120mph 6.354sec

Fuck me, its almost perfectly linear acceleration all the way to 120mph at the rate of .5 seconds per 10mph, thats just insane!

Out of this world.
I hope Martin has something up his sleave as it seems he is in a dissadvantage with weight and power, would be amazing to see a font line up of Evo, Skyline, Cossie battling at TOTB.

I suspect Martin has probably done a bigger % of the work on his car himself than any of the other top runners have, although obviously still hasnt done 100%, no one can at that level realistically.

The moral victory goes to the ford then

(although probably be the only one that does against the jap lads, martins car is aweomse im sure but i doubt it can beat that thing in any meaningful metric)

120mph = 120 * 1609 = 193080 meters per hour
/3600 = 53.6 M/S

It reaches that in 6.3 seconds

So acceleration rate average is 8.5 metres per second per second.

Gravity is 9.8 metres per second per second nominally

So its pulling .867 G

Which by the time you take off wind resistance of a car, means that its probably FASTER in a straight line that it would be off a cliff

I think renton should use that in the write up
