It might help, depends what type of road it was on.
Make sure your statement of means is believable, but also make it show clearly that you cant afford a taxi everyday.
Then you may have to prove that there is no other alternative public transport that will allow you to continue your job without your licence.
Ultimately it all comes down to the judge. By the skin of my teeth I got away with 104mph, getting 6 points instead of a ban. Cost shed loads in extra insurance premiums tho
Good luck.

Mate was clocked at 103mph in his 1.3 Proton Compact (yes we were amased it went that quick as well ) on the A1. He got a £400 fine and 6 points as he said he was very very sorry and needed his car for work.

Really does depend what type of road you were on chap?
Mine was on the motorway, hence I got an SP50 conviction, but if you were on a normal public road (ie: 60 or less limit) then you are almost certainly looking at a ban without question.

just finding my feet
as oranco says,,, you can not get points AND a ban,,,,,,,, and all courts know this so your mate is talking billy bollocks or you aint got all the facts
103 will be 6 points average tbh with a clean licence ( remember they got ALL your driving history though not just 4 years,,,,, so if you was a naughty boy longer they will STILL have it )
1 month off the road aint bad tbh but points come off from date of offence where a ban is date of conviction
also i got a mate who was on 9 points so when he was getting done for speeding went to 110 and got a 28 day ban rather than the 6 month for totting up

My mate got away with 106mph on the A64. He got 6 points and £600 fine after saying he wasn't used to his new car being so quick, it was a proton persona 1.5 Mind you, all he'd had before were 1litre festas
