Default Sat Nav help - need to buy one for the wife

Need some help on buying the right sat nav system for the wifes chrissy pres (i will be using it for work probably once/twice a month as well, so want a mint one)

I have een recomended the Tom Tom One as its £199 and supposed to be one of the best buys.

I them watch the gadet show on Monday and they reckon the Tom Tom 910 is the daddy - choices choices.

I need one that i can *borrow* from the wife twice a year to navigate to the ring, so needs to do European roads.

It would be neat if it did speed camera locations as well.

Any thoughts or advice appreciated.

all the tomtoms will do speed camera locations, you just need to subscribe to it thru the website.

the one is a good unit. i use it all the time for work etc very rarely steered me wrong.

you can go for the new euro version of the tomtom one. but personally i would go for the tomtom go 510 with the handsfree phone features and the euro mapping

pc world is the cheapest place and you can reserve online and pick up instore at the web prices

I know you Silver, you need more than one Sat Nav for you to find the ring

Try a combination of a Tom Tom, Smart ST Pro, XDA Exec with Tom Tom on it, and a Smart Phone sat nav.

Make sure you have an odd number of sat nav units, then you can always go with the majority if they disagree!!! PMSL Driving by majority voteing

I ask a simple question and get abuse....

However, i do like the idea of having an odd number of units! i like your mediation tactics - i will try and use that in future

I know what you mean, i have been presented with a few 'no entry' signs etc. But on balance i think they are pretty stunning bits of kit.

however, the unit i am basing this on should be for the cost of it!!

This is my first foray into the modern portable, stick on the windscreen jobbies and need some advice.

I will do a google on a syrius and see if i can find some reviews.

Do you have one? Will it do a full 7digit postcode search?

Thanks for the replies everyone.

I have narrowed it down to a Navman N60 and a TomTom 910.

Choices choices. Will see if i can get a bargain in the jan sales and tell the wife that santa got lost on the way to me becasue he didnt have a sat nav?

Do you think that would wash?

Silver you are a tight arse!

Christmas happens on 25th December. Spend a couple of extra of your hared earned pennies, and buy her the sat nav for the big day!

Or you could buy her something that she actually wants!!
