Mines 7.6:1 i believe, and target figure when mapped is to hit around the 500bhp figure.

Most common figure for a T4 car is probably 7.2:1 still

Depends so much on the opinions of your tuner and the rest of the spec though TBH!

my car drives as it did when it was standard..well apart from some part throttle issues that have yet to be resolved but these are down to the cam timing as it was smooth before the cams were twisted.

I use CP-pistons now, but theese are custom made for this engine, can recomend cosworth racing pistons in 7,3:1 -7,5:1 will defo hold for 600brake and 60.000km.
Did so in my M8 car

i dunno about the cossie world, but i know with other cars tuners claim to run higher comp than they really do (to impress the daft customers and to throw others off the track it seems), so i wouldnt take a lot of claims of high comp for granted either.

its hard to measure exact comp ratio as the size of my valve cut outs effects it aswell..

i didnt spec the pistons, the engine builder did..

not sure if he measured them or not?

they are custom pistons to AVA's exact spec so they must have taken ALL measurements i would have thought.

These comp ratio threads are great
Looks like alot of the above have gone low, where all the high comp lads to put forward another confusing discussion
Euan i expect you had to go that low as your motor is to be held on WOT for extended periods of time yeah??
I'm going considerbaly higher than most on my build, its a 2.0 16v but not a cossie lump and the aim is just shy of 500hp.

Well ask him then
We found out that if the thiknes from the valve cut out to the side wall was under 1mm, then it would ignite on the side and down the side off the piston, because the piston would glow and get hotter(hope u understand)
We had this problem on the cp-pistons on std bore

the engine wasnt built to be held flat out.. but it can be held no probs..

i had the engine built to be reliable and to take alot of power..

i had no input on comp ratio at the time of build.

8.4 :1 530 BHP , lots more responsive than the last engine which was about 6.4:1 when dismantled , very laggy and needed a good stir to bring to life . Im using Pectel T6 tho which is a lot easier to map than the Weber ecu's . this engine is mapped to do what i want from it tho , its not a shopping car with driveability !
