Default Anyone on Talk Talk ADSL ? ( IT PROBLEM !! )

Need osme help from someone who is using Talk TAlk for their ISP.

Just looked a friends computer who is using this great service and cannot get on the internet. They have replaced the modem with a netgear ADSL2 wireless router and modem.

This has worked up til a week ago when the place had a power cut.

Looking at the stats from the system, the PC is sending and recieving data to the router and can also connect up to the configuration screen for Netgear.

If I try connecting to the internet this doesn't work.

I've checked the link lights on the front of the modem/router and the light isn't flashing etc. Is this something that usually would stay on?

Also, they have lost the talktalk CD.. Would it be possible to Zip this up and send me a copy?

Thanks

Can't help with the CD, but have you tried hard resetting the router? (get any settings for wireless security first, if set)

Software restart? There's normally a hard reset button which will completely reset it back to factory settings (obviously loses any WEP keys etc).

No idea what you're taling about

I use talk talk and when I connected my wiresless router in place of the talk talk modem the cd in the box took me through some steps- I was prompted to change the settings on the router to the ones stated on the talk talk website.

Did that and job was a good un.
