Also a firm thats wanting hydrolic fitters and good wages in the same area. different to the above job but im good when it comes to taking mechanical things apart and putting back together and really enjoy working with my hands as its what im good at.

just really need a different job as my current 1 is going down the toilet very fast and i need to get out b4 i end up having a mental breakdown

mate i recruit for sales people all the time and if i have one that has been at the same place for a year or more is very rare......it is very cut throat.

you will find your basic wage is Ł10-12k MAX and they will prob guarantee you Ł16-18k OTE for the first 3 motnhs while you learn....
Plus you will be working about 5--60hours a week and nearly EVERY WEEKEND...

it really is your call but it is very cut throat you dont have any stability and if you are no goo dcan you live on Ł10k a year?????

There is a very bad stereo type around car salesmen and its quite close but its not quite as bad which main dealers as it is private ones. As with all comission based jobs the basic isnt very good but then you normally get a compnay car and the fuel paid so u could easily survive a few bad months. But wen u do reach target, you can make a mint. The whole dealership fights for target so they assist and make a few self registrations each month. But the hours are quite long, you will often need to go in on ur day off the assist a deal. Lots of organisation.

Big rewards when you put the effort in, but i worked 6 days out 7 and most weekends. Got me an escort Cossie at 23 though, car sales

December is worst month as very very quite. Took most my holidays at this time. No job security, you could be top sales for months have couple bad months in a row and your out!!!

I've just started working as a car salesman, as for earning 10k a year no way!!! wouldnt get my big toes out of bed for that, i bring home Ł1500 a month regardless if i sell a car or not, i work in the sub prime market (people with poor or low credit). i earned Ł500 pound in 15 mins yesterday selling a car. I belive working for ford or something you will get a lower rate of pay.
I love the job downside is you do work a lot of hours but the money earnt is very good in my opinion depending on the company.

Ive been in car sales for 3 years now, the hours are long and it is cut throat, but the money is good, and it is alot of fun. I used to work in a bank before which was boring as hell.

I've done sales. I was good too, as i could blag for britain. But didn't like it. Well i did, when i wanted to be me - and sell them what they really needed - that gave such a cool feeling. But didnt do a lot money wise.

I had a great time in doing it, but sometimes you can work with some right wankers. I started off in sales and moved on to Business and Sales Manager and held those positions for about 8 years until I bailed out the car game altogether.

In sales I use to earn some good money and the best been Reg Vardy ...most months I'd clear Ł2.5k and on one occassion on new regs month I took home Ł7.5k

Its long hours and can be very trying at times. If your not a strong person you'll last 5 minutes You need to totally be with the product your selling, else it wont work and above all, make sure you never lie. Customers will expect you to do that and will be on edge until they realise your above board ...the next thing you'll be selling them like hot cakes and earning a fortune!

currently im on a 6k basic ( gettin a pay rise jan)

obviously commision based got a nice bodykitted astra company car,i choose to work 6 days a week currently as im after more money so just have my day off in week and work every sunday ( has been worth it )
wages are up and down december is a terrible month will prob take home around a grand last motnh took home nearly 3k,the trade isnt as good as it was evereyone thinks you 3 k of profit in every car instead of the Ł300 u really have in a corsa lmao

3 yrs ago i was on the equivalent of 48k iff i had stuck the yr out as i earned 34k in 8 mths but decided to move on!!

i think realisticly depending on who u work for and area in your first 20k is achievable i think the job/hours etc warrants a 3ok a yr job minimum but youll never be rich or sociable whilst doin it but i love it and dont know anything else and guess im lucky where i work im left to get on with it unless i want backup ,lots of ongoing training and oppurtunities within the company and if i want a few hours off here and there it aint a prob,this is first company to give me hol pay aswell so think im lucky where iam

i get a minium wage of Ł1500 pound thats guranteed each month thats my basic, the aim is obviously to earn over the Ł1500 in commisions ect to make it work..i work 6 days a week i have no company car tho

one other good point to sales is it gives you great people skills and confidence

i was selling cars for 5 years, i feel so much stronger from it, if im in the pub im allways the fooker that has the balls to walk up to a bird


i just seem to click into sales mode whenever talking business with someone, telephone etc too

i say do it, if atleast anything it will improve your lifestyle due to the above
