Another update from NMS - Pistons scrap *update*
Im having NO luck whatsoever
The pistons from new have only done 5k miles and the engine was built by one specific company, i have receipts for over 6k.
Basically when the pistons were machined they were put on the lathe and tightened too tight, this has damaged them
Ive called the previous owner of the car to call the builders to see if anything can be done with regards to getting some compensation, but I dont hold much hope, as they were purchased 4 years ago.
They were accralite pistons, so not the best for the job and Arias pistons will go in instead, just £600 I havent got at the moment

Bottom end scrap as was overbored by same company
Supposed to be wire wrung, but unusable as the scores overlap
cam belt tensioner bodged so was a failure at any point

just finding my feet
what was wrong with this engine for it to first have these issues
and how long was the engine running for too ?
dont take this the wrong way but if the car had the pistons fitted 20k ago then,,,,, well then are all these problems precaution measures
as said though dont take offence just wondering as all ive seen in posts is issues with this car you bought that i never knew the reason the engine was removed in the first place

Right, the pervious owner gave the builders a call on my behalf, and to cut a long story short they have agreed to at least inspect the pistons
They were saying they couldnt have damaged the pistons due to the way they grind them, which means it could have been done at accralite.
NO DAMAGE at all has been done to the pistons while IN the engine, pistons were damaged/machined wrong at some point before going in the block.
Still SOME progress is GOOD progress.
