Was looking at geting an old three spoke one retrimmed and didn't have much luck finding anywhere. Most retrimmers don't like doing them as they are difficult to get right. I had given up till i won this on ebay

Won it for £67. The guy i bought it off had it recovered at the Lotus Factory. Cost him £125 though

I realise u may not care bout this, but suede effect/style steering wheels dont look v nice for long, they soon get filthy and go black and are near on impossible to clean up. jus thought i'd say anyway

I can get this done no problem, and the woman that does it for me is probably the same that did that steering wheel above, as she is the top trimmer for Lotus, and does all their show cars / prototypes.... .

Leather is normally £80 for 3-spoke or £85 for a 4-spoke (inc return delivery), with alcantara being the price quoted above. However, it goes all shiney with age (just like suede shoes).

I had one done at ALDRIDGE TRIM in Wolverhampton, really good quality. Black was about £80 but I had antracite and it was about a ton.

Beautiful tho!

i just watched that car dealers thing on discovery channel with mike brewer & that mechanic lad...

any way they had a porche in that nedded sorted out but the steering wheel stitching was comming apart so they got a saddler in & he made a shit hot job of sorting it so thats what i would do...

but mind you he kept the leather theme going not alccantra (or whatever its called)

Does Alcantara last better than suede? i.e resist going shinier for longer?

Also does it go all funny if your hands are sweaty in the summer ( like in the E30 M3 Evos )?

Have my steering wheel retrim by Mike Rainbird's trimmer.
