Default A question about YB heads and valve size FAO Stu Chip etc

Is there any point in changing the size of valves of they are getting replaced anyway. I am probs going to have to change the valves in my car and wondered if it is worth putting bigger ones in. My car runs on a closed loop stage 3 on a saff 4x4. What other changes would I have to make if any and is it worth doing???

Thanks for any replies.

The valves are big enough for 500bhp+ easily anyway mate, you will only lose out if you make them bigger.

Why do you want to change them? they normally last forever pretty much!

Thanks for that. I wondered if making them bigger would make it worse.

At least some of them will need to be changed as I suspect some are not as straight as they should be!!

Waiting to see what happens when the head is removed. Are aftermarket ones any good as I can get them at a good price from the states???

It depends on which aftermarket ones.

Some are awesome (nemonic 80 etc) others arent just cheap crap.

Personally i would just use secondhand standard ones to replace the few that you need to.

Can remember the exact name of those ones. It started with an S and they were coming from USA. He said they were Teflon coated. I wont use second hand ones as it is false economy. The head was refurbshed 1500 miles ago so barring any damage should be OK.
