Default quick gearbox/driveshaft question

i thought u had blown my gearbox the other day as i was driving and when i changed into 2nd something went bang and i lost all drive.

but i just started to take it out and found something else.

when taking the drivers side driveshaft out the cv joint that goes into the hub came off in my hand seperate to the rest of the shaft.

i thought i had a broken cv joint.

but when i look at it i found that the drive shaft actually sheered. and there is no connection between the gearbox and that wheel.

the box dosnt have lsd.
so is it right that there was NO power going to the wheels or would it of tried to drive round in circles?

just want to make sure that the gearbox is ok before i start putting the car back together.

Yep, the power will always take the path of least resistance. i.e. the snapped driveshaft

Like I said on msn, ring Eurorallye

He may actually just sell you one, I've never asked for any less than pair but its worth a try

PS

Unless you have a plate LSD you still wont have drive to one wheel if u snap a shaft

Check what shafts your using first though mate.

I really haven't known of many if any GTE shafts to break although the Courtenay crap snaps far too easily.

Get a pic up of the shafts and the break
