Vauxhall Vectra Gsi MSD?
Hello people,im going to view one of these 2mo on a "S"reg, Full vaux SH,63k standard example ect...
I thought id ask on here as ive seen quite a few members on here who have either owned/own vauxhalls?
Anyone know much about them? Anything i should look out for?

I had one and although it sounded well i thought it was well slow, so slow in fact i bought a Volvo S70 T5 which is still only 240bhp - also watch out for the lambda light in the dash, mine needed an EGR valve at Ł360 diy too.

Structurally they are very good...

Keep your eye's on the plastic timing gear. I know three people with Vectra V6's and two of them suffered failure. One was done under warantee the other Vauxhall washed their hands of it all. The last has been going well. Can't moan at a grand for an S plate GSi with 85k on the clocks

My bro got himself a Mondeo V6 for Ł1100. 120k on the clocks.
Blow me down if it didn't go and make 171bhp on the DynoDynamics rollers on Saturday

Well i went to view the Gsi this afternoon!
Im a little disapointed really! The car over all was very clean and well looked after but it just lacked the Buzz factor if that makes sence?
It just didnt really feel all that quick but then im used to my scooby?
Not sure

Thats kinda what I meant. There just, well, er, um......
And that was an MSD Super Touring model.
There's a guy at work who's got a CDX V6 on an S plate and I cant even picture what it looks like, nevermind say anything good or bad about it.
They're just that dull!
(Says a man who drives a Sierra Sapphire! )

This was one of 200 Super Tourers. It had different seats and ecu and some carbon bits, apparently in homage to the BTCC cars.
Sort of a "Rouse" Vectra (*runs and hides from Doo!)
And it was still pretty dull.

The 200 Super tourers arent that good, they are also NOT GSI's either!
The ST200 on the other hand is totally different and well worth trying to find (only about 20 left though!)
As for the GSI, they are ok but will never break any records, they are pretty much dead under 3k and have to be driven hard to get any speed out of them.
Nice enough to look at, but definitly not the right car if you want good acceleration. They will cruise all day long at any speed in relative comfort though.
Depends on what you want from it really.
Check rear suspension for knocking, and roof bars rattling on the estates

The Supertouring was 2.0 yes, the ST200 was 2.5.
There was NO model of Vectra that had a different ECU though.
It was originally planned but never went ahead due to cost etc.
The ST200 is no more powerful than a normal GSI, the only difference performance wise is a different gearbox and LSD

ST200, thats the one..
Still wasnt impressed though. It was only a couple of years old and cost him about Ł17K
Fook knows what else he could have had for that money!
As for the ecu martyn, I'll take your word for it. Might have been camshafts or something. It was a while ago.

Did the face lift model have Xenon lights? If so are they interchangable with Pre face lift models?

You can put the xenons and normal facelift lights on (they are one peice, prefacelift has seperate indicators) but you will get a small gap at the bottom of the lights/top of bumper.
