Anyone wondering what its like to go?
For me personally it was one of the highlights of 2005 and 6. It is by far the most enjoyable event ive ever been to, and the socialising aspect was nothing short of incredible. Whole evenings just whittled away eating, drinking and having great fun with some of the most fantastic and pleasant people i have ever met. I cant wait to get back there. If your interested, here is my own story from Easter this year: Click Me:

Issues to consider:
Book the time off work NOW.
Don’t forget to book a hotel.
Don’t forget to book a crossing and a return.
Don’t forget your passport and insurance details.
Don’t forget to get EU cover on your car insurance.
Don’t forget to arrange some EU breakdown cover. (AA/RAC/ADAC)
You MUST get the new European Health Insurance Card www.ehic.org.uk
Don’t forget that tyres and brakes will take a hammering, best to set off with new ones fitted IMO or take spares.
You can NOT afford to crash at teh Burburgring. It is Notoriously expensive.
The most common question i have seen asked so far over teh years is "What does it cost?" So, i kept a track of costs on my first trip and here they are, hopefully, a few items on there will jog some memorys of expenses you may have overlooked.
My own personal Costings for Nicole and I:
Additional expenses:
Total Outlay for us both to drive the ring: £1485.00
In reality, the fuel for my own cossie, including 21 laps of the ring was only £350, so you can knock the last £140 off if your confident your car will be as good or better than my own and you wont buy souveniers or go karting etc.

The posts above should tell you pretty much all you need to know. What you need to do now is:
A) Book a crossing of your choice, either tunnel or ferry.
B) Book a hotel.
C) Let us know teh details of both so we can add it to teh topic. That way we tend to travel in packs, like wolves, and its great great fun.
Please note we are only booking DEFINATES onto teh topic as otherwise it will be totally full, so only add your name if you are 100% coming.

Ive just come across a great list of reasons not to crash there:
Base fee for attendance of armco truck: €150
Removing damaged armco: €10/metre (x2 or x3 or x4 for multiple-height sections)
Replacement armco: €31/metre (x2 or x3 for double/triple height)
Removing damaged armco posts: €5.10 each
Replacing armco post: €39 each
Safety car attendance: €82 per 30 mins (car + 2 people)
Circuit closure: €1,350 per hour
Recovery truck: €175 (inc VAT)
Hospital stay & air ambulance: Let's just say, do NOT go there without travel insurance! (Though a European Health Card - which replaced the E111 - may cover the hospital bit.)
Everything bar teh truck is then subject to 16% VAT

Now then, EVERYONE IN OUR GROUP OF FRIENDS staying at teh hotel i have secured for us, as per previous posts, has to pay me £50 Per person so i can send it to germany to secure our rooms. The reason for this is simple:
The hotellier is naturally quite nervous about us letting his whole hotel as if we were to back out, he loses his busiest income period of teh year (Easter), so i have OFFERED to pay this deposit to help him sleep better. On teh upside, its £50 less to find in April.
Please send the cash to my Paypal account or by cheque to MSD, made out to Stewart Sanderson. Paypal address is: Stu@passionford.com
Please ensure if paying by paypal you cover teh fees at your end.
£100 transfer to me will cost approx £104 all in.
Please everyone understand that this deposit is NON refundable. when i get it from you, i send it to teh hotellier. End of story for me.
Also understand this is NOT FOR ALL PF MEMBERS. Just our group of close mates. I have already had 3 people calling me at work trying to pay for a room, so i obviously diodnt make it clear enough last time.

Topic fully updated and cleaned, so please check YOUR details are shown correctly.
Ok chaps, all of you staying at the hotel with ME, I need these deposits in now, as i MUST send the hotel the deposits that i have now.
Ive got over £600 of peoples money sat here, so those who dont pay in teh next few days are going to lose thier rooms.
I have a LONG list of reserves, so the only people who will lose out are YOU.

Hi guys,
I have a separate group that are going to go in April. If the dates for track opening when released look right, then I will see if we can do it the same weekend. It will be good to see you guys over there!

I'm starting a new job in January, i don't think getting the time off will be to much of a problem tho.
I'm tempted, its just the hotel thing really.............. Should i reserve? Or shouldn't i?
And i don't think the cabbie would make it there and back so it'll have to be the Cavalier
