Default Quick Turbo Question

On turbomustangs they use terms like.

66MM

and 66-1

What does that mean?

I know it's not Cossie stuff but theres alot of clever people here.

A T4 framed turbo with a 66mm compressor inducer.
A "T66" basically.
Once above 80mm inducers they usually T6 framed turbos, but the same thing applies, and still called T80, T88, T106, whatever.

Compressor inducer size is a basic way of determining power capability of the turbo (well, the compressor mainly, but hey).

In cossies we call T3 framed turbos with T4 compressors T4s, so its not the most informative thing ever here

Cheers dude.

Is their anything about cars you don't know?

So what does that 66-1 thing mean?

When you say T4 frame is that like the bolt pattern?

Nearly mate!

T2 (which is also T25 and T25 IIRC), T3, T4, T6 frame is purely the flange size on the manifold to turbine housing!

T2 is smallest, T6 is massive.

Cossies run T3 size ones for example (T4s and T35s just have T4 sized compressors with T3 sized housings).

IIRC a 66-1 is just one of many different 66mm inducer compressor wheels i think, a Turbonetics name.

As some compressors, even tho they same size, are more efficient than others, better at certain boosts, blah blah.
