Gambling
Anyone partial to a flutter?
Recently been hitting the casino now and then with some mates and its a cracking night out.
I know alot of people disagree with it, but providing you know your limits, and dont gamble to the extent of financial hardship, i rekon its fine
Any gambling stories for us? good or bad?

Don't get me started mate
Ask Stu what I used to be like on PF Blackpool meets. I was a right addict. Used to gamble way above and beyond my means. I've lost many possessions I valued in my life due to gambling and having to sell shit. Always used to think "just a few more quid" or "just one more bet" to win back what I'd lost.
Sometimes I won decent money ont he bandits, but ultimately you're always in the red.
Haven't played a machine or placed a bet since December 2005
Best thing I've ever done, giving it up, despite it being hard as fook in the beginning.

I've been going to the Casino regularly since I was 16.
I don't play against the house any more, as it's a poor way to make money. Play the occassional game of Blackjack, but only for a bit of fun.
Used to do a little bit of sports spread, but I haven't done very much recently, as I'm just saving and being a good boy.
I play a lot of poker though, but again, haven't done for a few months..... although I've got entry to the UK Open this year. Been playing online for about 3 years, and live for longer - doesn't help that a mate of mine is a professional with tournament winning this year of £1.6 million

Dogsmoke, that is horrid mate, well done for stopping.
1.6M from playing poker, madness eh.
Normally stick to the roulette at the casino, odd game of blackjack but not as often, tend to keep away from the bandits though, pain in the arse.

my old man is what you could technically call a "loan shark"
he bankrolls his "aquantances" at the casino's
if they win, he gets his money back plus a %
if they lose they pay him back at the rate of 2% compound a month
and he's only really got into trouble twice that i know of (although there was the incident where he lost 4 of his front teeth...............)
he was playing a game in a pub, and my old man not only counts cards, he makes them do his bidding (and not in a david blaine stylee either )
so he's at the table and there is a pot of £1600 and only him and this other guy (who was the local thug of thugs) still in
the old man has obviosly won and the next thing you know he's being "taken outside" by a few lads who want their hard earned back
luckly for my old man, he recognised one of them, mentioned a few names, and the lead thug went inside and bought him a pint (it's nice to know not olny thugs, but thugs parents who are heavily indebted to the old man for lending them a few quid here and there when they have needed it back in the old school days)
the other incident i know about was on his 50th birthday when i got a phone call from plod to say i had to collect him in the morning
4am and he;s only gone and got into a spot of bother with some youngsters who they were fiddling big time
when my uncle had run out of milk bottles to throw at them he started chucking the crates
them the sorts of stories you are after?
no?
i've got a few more, ones that involvd murder too if you want to hear them (straight up true and for real people killing one another over a debt)
