Should do, run the CPS sensor into it, the coilpack, and I imagine (but can't remember - been a long time since I had my Mk5), a vacuum module for the advance.

why no ecu though?
they are so cheap nowadays,,, and you will get the best from the engine and not a compromise

magajolt from alex f on here would be perfect

I totally appreciate, what your saying mate, and yes in an ideal world that would be my first and only choice. But I personally dont have the first clue with regards to mapping, and as I understand it, most tuners wont touch the likes of Megajolt or Megasquirt, and of the few that do the cost of mapping would seriously dint my budget

I can supply a base map and tweek it for you when its up and running

MegaJolt is really easy to setup - any mapper/dyno place will be able to do it for you if your not local....

if your going o an ecu based ignition, you might aswell go for throttle bodys, they cost the same as carbs

Trying to get a really acurate advance curve on a dizzy is a LOT harder than it is on megajolt or another ECU, if you cant map it yourself, then you can be damn sure you will be utterly fucked when it comes to bob weights and springs and stops to try and do the same thing!
