Scalextrics
I was just wondering if anyone is into there scalextrics on here? I'm wanting to build a big track in my attic for the kids to use (And me after a few beers
) but I think it's changed a bit since I was a kid, they have digital cars or something now with brakes and you can run more than one car on the same track
Can you get a "normal" one with just a trigger that makes them go round the track or is that a thing of the past
I'd buy all the bits off ebay or from the local freeads but I need to no if there are different types of track and cars that aren't compatible with each other, and if I go to a shop and ask for advice I can see me getting ripped off or them trying to sell me a box set which isn't going to be big enough for my plans.
Any information, advice or links would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Chris

you can still get a normal scalextrix, with the digital version you can have up to 6 cars on a 2 lane track, also you can add lane changers on the corners & straights & create pit lanes, single lanes etc....

i don't live far away at all, it's your fault really
if you can arrange for someone who's local to collect it in their travels i'm more than happy to let them collect if for you, but it's about the size of a small telly all in so posting it owuld be a bit of a bitch
as for sideways action, put just the smallest smear of vasaline on the track, literaly, just a small drop, and the cars go sideways like loons
even with the magnatraction on them

I've got loads of the stuff too
I bought the old Cosworth set from ebay 2 years ago with the 2 3 door cossies, rs200, minis and other bits and bobs. Then 2 years ago my parents bought me the Starsky and Hutch set and I still have the old Le Mans and Silverstone sets from the late 80s along with 30 cars in their loft
I haven't set it up since last year though
I waited until my wife went to bed and then I filled the living room floor with it

my first set was the mighty metros, then i got a set with lamborghini diablo and ferrari f40. then it went from there, had loads lol. all in thel oft now. might dig it out.
i burnt the motor out on the blue and yellow metro coz i put a paper weight infront of it so it did a burn out lol
