Default Any one help my son got a prob with his PS2

hi my name is jordan i have a problem with my ps2
can anyone help.
the problems are that the ps2 does not always read the games (most of the time) it seems to be if i get a game loaded it will work fine as many times as i want but if i open the disc tray it wont work again for ages.

i anit going to buy new one as i am getting ps3 in march
when it comes out

I'd recomend a disk cleaner/lense cleaner

I had that problem. I just binned it and got a cheap one off ebay

is the ps2 flat or on its side?? whichever it is try turning it the other way they suffer from this with time mine di so i turned it on its side and it works perfectly

but it did work after i think 40 ish ? but it on another and it wouldnt work after it had been round the whole way . but its worth a try ...

mine does exactly as you have described plus it makes horrible click, grinding and clunking noises. Going to bin it, sell the games on shit-bay and buy a 360. Sod waiting for the PS3.

Yeh i wanna get a 360 aswell, i just cant wait for the ps3, gonna take too long. Wanna get 360 because of Pro Evo 6 & Forza Motorsport 2 they both look wicked

same problem i had with getting 360 (explaining to misses) especially as allready have 2 xboxs and ds, but got one and now cant get her off saints row, so i dont even get to play it

my hifi at home has a problem where if u turn it on and put a cd in, it will load up no problem and play, but then it only plays for about 15mins then will start jumpin, or if u take the cd out and put another in, it wont load it up at all. hot running problem?

PS2s have a problem with over heating. Especially the slim-line one. I'm guessing it's getting too hot to work properly. One of my mates has one of the original larger ones and he took it apart and wired a pc fan up to it. He's never had any problems with it after that
