got mine 10 years ago so things may have changed since

used to be able to go and get your medical and jump into a cab for a 5 day course with a test at the end of it, they did a combined class 1 and 2 over a two week period for about £1100 with a garanteed pass or no fee for the next test

if things are still like that then at least you have a ball park figure, might even be worth asking around some test cetnres to see if this sort of scheame still opperats

got to do 2 before you can 1 now.

ball park figure is between 1000-1500 depending on if you want guarenteed pass etc.

before you can do the practical you also have to do a theory and a medical, plus pay for your previsional licence

Depends which doctor you use

I used these http://www.elgv.com/contactus.asp

You pay £99 that gets you
Your medical, HGV highway code book, Provisional licence, Theory test and driver Assesment (how many hours you need).
Once you get your licence back and have passed your medical you then have your driver assessment,
Once this is done you then book your lessons,
I had 12 hours + test, failed once so add another retest and It stands me at around £1k

if you got high blood pressure you better see the doctor first before you do anything to do with driving
