Kent Cams Double Valve Springs
I have a set of Kent Cams Double Valve Springs VS34,but don't know if I can use them with my standart retainers or they work only with kent retainers??? Do I have to do some machining on the head? 10x in advance!

IIRC when tried to fit them to my standard retainers they did not quite fit even thouigh kent said they would. you need to use a small grinding wheel to relieve a small amount from the inside of the start of the larger spring otherwise it does not locate properly on the retainer. for example say the internal diameter of the sping is 25mm the retainer is expecting a 25.5mm spring so you are just putting a small chamfer on the lead in to the spring internal.
i had my spring seats machined 80 thou as well but i cant remember whether this was required due to cam lift or spring binding.

Can this spring binding cause a failure of the cam belt?? I have a set of VS34's with std retainers fited on my car and it's very hard to spin the cam pulies by hand now,it's like something is holding back the cam.The cam belt was damaged( teeth begin to tear) for less than 150 miles, exh valves hit pistons, then changed with new valves and new cam belt, did about 15 miles and it seems the belt is beggining to tear again
