i have seen volvo engined fords popping up in the magazines???
whats going on??
are they any good??

Volvo are owned by ford so its only going to be more common in the future.

The black norwegian mk2 Escort that was in Performance Ford a while ago with a 600bhp Cosworh engine now has a 2.7 Volvo engine with around 630bhp...

why are they used are they stronger or just the same?
anyone know if the inlet manifolds match up?

Being Scandanavian, I imagine they can get them cheap, and source tuning parts cheap.

Its not as if Cossie stuff is a bargain.

Knowing fuck all about Volvos (other than that they are ugly cars) I'm hardly the best person to talk about this...
But I know that the 2.7 16v stuff is sought after and expensive... Plenty of shitty 240 turbos about though, a bit like chavy Novas in the UK really...

Depends on what you mean about "all"...

Only know about 2 Fords with Volvo engines, the mk2 Escort and a mk1 Fiesta with rwd conversion... Dont know which engine the Fiesta is running though.
