Need to lose weight for the Army.. FAST
I'm a big lad - 6ft 2, very big build.
I have a belly and some tits, i'm being frank.
It needs to go, NOW.
I don't have access to a gym right now so need natural ways of getting fit and losing weight VERY quickly.
I'm very strong and my legs are pure muscle, arms are near enough.
Its my torso and my face which suffer the fat problem and it needs to be gone.. like now!
Cheers for any help.

Running, and loads of it. Its the best way in any case, but its even better since its free and you dont need a gym.
Cutting out all the fatty foods will help too

Football training is very apt for the Army, it gives you speed agility and quickness. Up and down steps as you have said, starting doing shorts sprints, ie sprint 10yards turn and sprint back, turn and sprint twenty yards, turn and repeat all the way to fifty yards.
The average footballer runs 8 miles during a game and this is done at a variety of speeds. Use weights to tone arms and do squats, also worth getting on your back legs together and lift them 6 inches and hold, another 6 inches and hold, then back down and repeat. This will tone your stomach.

swimming...brilliant exercise
it did so much for me I no longer need to do it anymore
& cycling instead of using the car if it's local...if you're going shopping put a basket on the front to put your shopping in...you'll be so scared of people seeing you you'll pedal faster than you thought you ever could

To quote the phrase
"Run like the wind forest"
It's free, and is the quickest way of losing fat. Make sure you invest in a decent pair of running shoes too (Mizuno or something like that), you don't want shin splints if your joining the army in 1 month.
As said above too, no fatty foods, no take-away's, no fizzy drink. Go for skimmed milk, plenty of fruit and veg, light mayo etc etc. Drink at least 2 litres of water a day, you could also try eating 5-6 small meals a day instead of 2 or 3 bigger ones. This speeds up your metabolism and will prevent your body storing up food (i.e. fat)
Good luck mate

If you drink a lot of Coke or other fizzys, cutting that out will give you a massive start.
I used to drink loads of diet coke, and a few years back switched to keeping a jug of water in the fridge, with a few slices of lemon in it. Made a huuuuge difference quite quickly.

the only way to lose wieght (another only way that is ) is to use more energy than you are consuming
this will start to burn off the fat reserves
the only other (another only other option, keep track of them ) is to get some liposuction done
but thats gonna cost you

Cut down on Fatty foods but not all together atleast have something you really like to eat atleast once a week.
As for exercise then running atleast 3miles a day should be looking to make it in atleast 25min.
If got bad knees the cycling is pretty good and swimming is also superb for some people.
When i join RAF almost 4yrs ago i was almost 15st i am 6ft3.
I had done 2 months and was 11.5st and so thin was made to eat crap and drink atleast 2 guiness a night by training team and was not allowed to go med centre as would re course me for being so thin. I finished training back to 14st but with alot more muscle and was running 5mile in under 30min.
I have damaged my knee badly so now a fooking big 17st, probably 16st if hadn't been doing weights.
I wouldnt worry about it to much mate aslong as you can past fitness tests you get set then you will be fine. Should think when it comes to tabbing if do any you will be a machine anyway.

The only test I could pass right now is a puffed out test
I don't really care if I lose 4st or 1st, if i'm medically and mentally fit then thats all i care about. I want to raise the fitness and enjoy running, which right now I don't
I weigh about 16st, but i'm not exactly the smallest of people in terms of the actual size of me. Cut the fat and I bet I still weigh 12-13st...
None of my mates believe I weigh that much either, because when you see 16st people they're fat wrecks.. im just tall and its spread out over me
Anyway.. gonna go for a run later tonight

When you drink the water make it ice cold - it'll expend those few extra calories to get it back up to body temperature.
As the man said running will get you used to what the army throws at you. Go hiking somewhere like the lakes and Snowdonia - take a full pack with as much as you can carry - thats not only good practice for the army hikes you'll be doing but you'll burn masses of energy with all the ascent and extra weight. Oh and it'll toughen your feet up so you wont be hit so bad with the blisters when you start.
Good luck!

all this talk of running is all very well but for optimum fat burn you should get a heart rate monitor and keep down to below 130 or whatever is the level for your weight/age etc to keep out of the cardio zone
although you want cardio for fitness it don't burn fat as well
also if your calories expended exceed those coming in, i have had good results using c.l.a.
and you need some fat for your body to work right, i get my fat* from unsalted pistacchio nuts as that is one of the best types of fat
*well , that and McDonalds

Cut out as many dairy products as you can mate say bye to the booze and watch your sugar and salt intakes as well. Take brown bread when ever possible as well.
I've started this week just back from a game of football with a few lads from work. healthy break fast, soup and 2 pieces of fruit for lunch and my main meal what is generaly pritty healthy anyway. The health and fitness forum on here will help loads as well
Booze is the hardest one for me to cut out so i've been taking the car every where so I know I cant drink only way of forcing my self not to go to the bar and just have that 'one'

Thats stuff about keeping your pulse under 130 for optimal fat burn isall very well in theory but it doesnt hold up under scrutiny. If you run X miles and burn Y calories then your body will burn whatever it can. You still used up Y calories and providing you're burning more than you are eating then you'll lose fat.
I never see under 150bpm on my mountain bike and I lost a fair bit of fat.
