if you have catorgory C1 on your licence then yes you can, I think you had to get your car licence before 1st jan 97 to qualify for it under "grandfather" rights.

if you havent then t is pointless doing a C1 licence, you may as well do the full C licence so you can drive ANY rigid veichle.

look for HGV schools, think there is one in glos. sterling have one in cirencester.

I did mine at training express in trowbridge. bit far maybe for you but spot on.

yes you do need a medical.
search for "cotswold medicals" alot cheaper than your normal doctors, think it was about Ł35 when i had mine.

you will also need to do another theory test but to be honest its a piece of piss.

depends on when you passed
you might need to get your class 3 (3.5 tonne - 7.5 tonne)

From medical to passing 3 weeks,
Had my medical, waited for my HGV provisional to arrive back from Swansea, as soon as it did i had my theory booked, went for that a week later, once i passed that went straight down for my assesment (see how many hours i need), they gave me the minimum they offer of 12 hours training and test.

I used Enterprise in Manchester
