I knwo they liek you to order it but i reckon they're definitely having you on.
went to the bank last week to withdraw 1500 quid for a ring for my mrs.
the girl didn't even leave her seat.. she had far more than that in her cash drawer alone!!!!

Bet it was halifax. They did that to me when i tried to take out 2k for my bottom end. started screaming at the cashier then the manager. They closed down three of the tills to give me my money. Now back with hsbc. They never say no.

mate some banks put 10-15k in their cashpoints everyday! if it was a major branch 2.5k is fook all!
maybe they thought you looked dodgey so they said they didnt have it
